Note: 1kg serves approximately 5 portions.

Minced Beed – 450g
Chopped Tomatoes – 1 Tin
Garlic Cloves – 2 finely chopped
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Frozen Peas – 1-2 mugs
Carrots (optional) – 1-2 peeled and chopped
Paprika (ground) – 1 tbsp
Thyme – 1 tsp dried or 1 bunch fresh
vegetable stock cubes – 1-2
Bisto gravy granules (enough to thicken)
Roux (instead of bisto)

1.Fry the chopped onion and garlic on the pan then add the mince and fry until brown. (Add the chopped rashers if using them)

2.Add the Paprika, salt and pepper and stir well. (add the red wine now if using it)

3.Add the Chopped tomatoes and 1 pint of water and stir well again

4.Add the stock cubes, peas, carrots and the thyme stir, simmer on a low heat for 20 minutes

5.Thicken with a little Bisto and serve over mash potatoes.
